The summer is here, so it’s time for PA DeMolay’s summer activities. July is the annual PA DeMolay Convention, held from July 15 to 17 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott in Breinigsville, PA. The Lehigh Valley area served as the perfect host for a fun-filled gathering for all of Pennsylvania DeMolay to enjoy.
The first activity on Friday was at the Lehigh Valley Zoo, where participants enjoyed two hours of fun with the animals. Next was SkyZone, a chance to have fun while bouncing around on trampolines. The members could play basketball, dodgeball, ninja-warrior-style obstacles, sky joust, and many more fun-filled activities.
Saturday was the business session and the luncheon. Congratulations to Cole Summerfield for being elected State Master Councilor for 2022-2023. Brothers Gary Weyandt and Kenton Green were elected as State Senior Councilor and State Junior Councilor, respectively. Other presentations taking place at the business session included the introduction of the new DeMolay International Campaign; “The Road Begins Here,” a tribute to “Dad” Sam Williamson, and the announcement of the retirement of Executive Officer “Dad” Rodney Boyce, and the announcement of a new Executive Officer, “Dad” J. Michael Larkin. At the luncheon, several honors were given out, including the Hodegos Award to “Dad” Jesse Spence, “Dad” Joseph Pullin, “Mom” Kristine Spence, and “Mom” Denise Blew. “Dad” Dave Berry was also presented with the Scottish Advisor of the Year Award, and “Dad” Rodney Boyce was awarded the Guild of the Leather Apron.
Saturday night wrapped up with a few hours spent at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom. The members had a great This convention proved to be an exciting one. Congratulations to all who were elected to serve for the 2022-2023 year and to all who were awarded during this year’s convention.
