Pennsylvania DeMolay held its annual Volleyball, Bowling and Swimming Tournaments the weekend of January 9th-11th at the Patton Campus in Elizabethtown. Carlisle Chapter, fielding two teams, took top honors with a first place finish in volleyball for their first team and the Spirit Award for their second team. Rounding out the top five chapters were Lorraine in second; Northeast in 3rd; Allentown in 4th and Chester Pike in 5th. The All-Tournament team sported representatives of Allentown, Carlisle, Chester Pike, Elizabethtown, George Washington, Lorraine, Northeast and Westmoreland Chapters. The Most Valuable Player, playing in his last DeMolay Tournament before turning 21, was Anthony Kallhoff of Carlisle Chapter and the Coach of the Tournament was “Dad” Curt Rauschenberger of Lorraine Chapter.
Bowling accolades and recognition went to Cody Rosenbauer of Lorraine Chapter for the best individual game; Anthony Kallhoff of Carlisle Chapter for the best individual series; and Carlisle Chapter for the best chapter series.
Blue Swimming Ribbons were presented to Danny Shevalier of Allentown Chapter for first place in the freestyle individual events and the breaststroke individual event; to Jake Otto of Carlisle Chapter for the butterfly individual event; to Matt Otto of Carlisle Chapter for the backstroke individual event; and to Carlisle Chapter for first place finished in the freestyle relay and the medley relay.
In addition to the tournament, seven advisors received their basic DeMolay Advisor Development (DAD) Training and nine advisors attended continuing education courses (DAD Plus) on DeMolay Month planning and tips on completing the 2014 Financial Report and basic chapter budgeting techniques.
