PA DeMolay News - Friendship-Bray Holds Devotional Day

On March 14, 2010, Friendship-Bray DeMolay attended morning services at Springhouse Estates, in Lower Gwynedd Township, PA. This was the Chapter's annual Devotional Day observance.

Some of the members acted as ushers, others gave out hymn books, while others acted as escorts and assisted residents down from their quarters to the worship service in the auditorium.

Before the service started, "typical teenagers" would all generally gather in a group in the back of the room, away from everyone else... but not FBC guys! What did the FBC guys do? On their own and without prompting from their advisors, they all split up on their own and sat amongst the congregation. That simple action made a huge impact! Our Friendship-Bray brothers talked to the residents, helped them turn the pages in their hymn books and kept them company during the service. Awesome job, guys! You really made a bright difference in the lives of others today.

Pastor Shaw commented on how great of a job everyone did, and a little of what DeMolay is all about -- and that Friendship-Bray DeMolay is always welcomed back to assist.

Afterwards, everyone went to unwind at Thunderbird Lanes in Willow Grove where a couple games of bowling and pizza was a great way to finish off an annual Obligatory Day observance.

Friendship-Bray DeMolay would like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to Mrs. Kathy Heckler who wrote letters and made phone calls to set the Chapter up with their Devotional Day observance.
